Malawi Treasury appoints new spokesman: Exit Msowoya, enters Kutengule

Spokesperson for the Ministry Finance and Economic Planning and Development, Nations Msowoya has been removed from the post and replaced with Alfred Kutengule.

Secretary to the Treasury (ST) Ronald Mangani  in a circular to all Principal Secretaries and Heads of Departments in the civil service dated 1 December 2016 informed that  Msowoya “has been assigned other responsibilities.”

Mangani wrote: “ I am pleased to inform you that Mr Alfred Kutengule has been appointed as a Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and development effective 1 December 2016.”

He said all public relations and media issues involving Treasury should be addressed now to Kutengule.

Commenting on his new role,  Kutengule said: “I am deeply honoured to have been appointed to this role at the Treasury.”

Msowoya could not immediately comment on his removal and redeployment.

Congratulateion Mr Kutengule. I know that you will ably handle this daunting task of PRO for Treasury. Nations, thank you for the great service you rendered Treasury as the mouth piece for the Ministry. I know that this move has been necessitated by your new role as Head of Unit at NAO which is an equally demanding position
