The Young Chipolopolo were dominant from the off against Malawi as they led 2-0 inside 14 minutes after goals from Damiano Kola and Benjamin Phiri.

They might have added to that tally as they spurned a number of opportunities, before Nicholas Mulilo grabbed his third goal of the tournament with 16 minutes remaining.

East Africa guest nation Kenya kept their semi-final hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over Madagascar, who have been eliminated.

Kenya will now face Malawi in a showdown for second place on Tuesday, with the Young Flames needing a draw to advance.
