February 14 is a date the world celebrates love and affection between intimate companions. Malawians are no exception as they also take time to observe this particular day annually.
As this year’s Valentine’s Day fast approaches, a Blantyre-based firm, Freed Marketing Consultancy, is organizing a special event where loved ones will celebrate the romantic day in style.
The company’s marketing executive, Tina Kendricks, has told Nyasa Timesthat her firm will be treating couples to a ‘Valentine’s dinner’ at the popular Steers and Debonairs in the commercial city.
In an interview, Kendricks said the romantic dinner would be targeting executives in the corporate world.
“We want to create a special night where executives will spend it in a special way with the people they cherish the most after work, since Valentine’s Day will fall on a Tuesday,” she said.
Said Kendricks: “It’s a special day and we guarantee them an extra special night with special meals complete with special wine and other drinks.”
Apart from different extraordinary cuisines and other specialties, couples will also be treated to special selection of romantic music that will play from 6:00pm to midnight.
According to Kendricks, tickets to the Valentine’s dinner, which will start selling soon at K4,500, will go into a raffle draw and guests will go home with assorted items from among others Carlsberg Malawi as well as L Devraj shopping vouchers.
Party
She went on further to reveal that after the Valentine’s night, Freed Marketing Consultancy will have an ‘after party’ in the afternoon of the following Saturday (February 18) at Goldcard Executive Lodge, Namiwawa.
“We are calling this a ‘Saturday spotlight pool party’ where people will get together and share exciting moments with the lovers, friends and family.
“There will be drinks, a braii and live performances by renowned urban musicians,” said Kendricks, adding “people will win different prizes through raffle draws.”
Freed Marketing Consultancy, which was founded two years ago, does events management, promotional materials such as print, TV, radio adverts as well as banners and billboards.
Quality
In a separate interview, the firm’s lead consultant Dave Kasinja told Nyasa Times that two years down the line, the company promises Malawians exciting services and products.
“We have taken charge and we’re here to stay. We are very innovative and are here to give the people of Malawi quality work at competitive rates.
Added Kasinja: “We are professionals with a marketing executive very well exposed. People should have confidence in our firm.”
