Mwakasungula attributes Silver’s league success to ‘God’s favour’

TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers caretaker coach, Hellings Mwakasungula has attributed the league triumph to God’s favour.

He said it was not luck but God’s favour and also attributes the victories to the players faith.

“To us it’s a big achievement to win this trophy, I thank my mates, the players and the management and anyone in Silver family but most importantly God for guiding us through it wasn’t our power to do that but it was him,” said Mwakasungula.

The notion that God’s favour becomes a factor in sporting events implies that God favours those who win and ignores those who lose.

Mwakasungura also added that he want to use this success as a starting point in their quest to land this seasons Presidential Cup.

“We want to have this momentum going into the presidential cup so that we can win it.”

He is upbeat the bankers can have a double.

“We can win it, our main target is on winning trophies, we always fight for anything and it remains God prerogative to act in whatever manner He chooses,” he said

Mwakasungula hinted that he could relish the opportunity to continue in the coaching role and revealed that the club’s management is considering of sending them to a coaching course.

Silver were on Saturday deservedly crowned the champions after narrowly beating ESCOM United 1-0 at Kamuzu stadium, through a lone goal from Rodrick Gonani.
