The Malawi national soccer team regroups on Sunday for camp training to prepare for the first leg of the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad in N’djamena on 29 February.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in consultations with the Kinnah Phiri led technical panel has released a 25 local member squad to go into camp at FAM’s Chiwembe technical centre in Blantyre.
Notable inclusions in the squad include Mafco’s Oscar Chapitapansi, Thoko Stambuli (Blantyre United), Clement Mvula (Silver Strikers), George Nyirenda (Bullets ) and Masiyano Maxwell(Blue Eagles).
Kinnah has also called into camp veteran striker Esau Kanyenda who is unattached following the termination of his contract with his Russian club and is back home.
FAM says it will release a list of foreign based players for the Chad game in due course.

ReplyYou are a very myopic Malawian sorry to say that but you deserve it.You can not be good at everything, as human beings we are dependent upon each other the same applies with football one player can not do everything. Open your mouth when there is a need to speak and not a need to relive one self as if you are a child crying because urine is pressing you. Watch out, I am a tumbuka and am proud to be obe

ReplyHave u ever tried to assess Orland pirates and Kaizer chiefs approach of selecting players in some cups? they involve supporters to choose players for the first 11 team. This approach has been effective and in most games they apply that system. Why cant we do the same here in Malawi? Involve supporters in selection or super league coaches.

ReplyKodi Ndaziona Chatsalira watengedwa as defender or winger? Are we going to see the same mistake that Kinna did at cecafa by featuring Ndaziona as defender while natural and uncompromising defenders are warming the bench? If that is the case then why do we call defenders to national team? be serious and lets learn from Zambia. they never compromise in selection.
