Atupele addressing crowds

Presidential aspirant Atupele Austin Muluzi took his road show meetings to the central region district of Mchinji on Sunday, where he attracted thousands upon thousands of people.

Atupele first addressed crowds at Kamwendo trading centre in the district attracting mammoth crowds. He proceeded to Mchinji boma where may people also cheered the youthful presidential hopeful.

His last venue was at Kapiri Trading centre around 5.30pm where  again thousands of people lined up side by side of the road on a stretch of about two kilometers to the venue chanting anti government songs and cheering Atupele.

In particular they were chanting “tapeza wathu wathu” [This is our own].

Addressing the people, the lawmaker dwelt more on the issues affecting the ordinary people.  He spoke about change and the need for Malawians “to find new solutions to the many problems affecting our country.”

He stressed on the need for unity amongst Malawians to confrot the challenges, saying “Malawians cannot wait for three years to resolve the problems.”

Apparently, he was referring to President Mutharika who told parliament o Friday the country’s woes will be resolve in three-year’s time.

Atupele also said the presidential contest should be based on the issues and concerns of the citizens other than individual attacks.

He also visited other places starting with Namitete in Lilongwe, Walilaranji in Mchinji where veteran politician Kaphwiti Banda, who is UDF patron and comes from Mchinji attended all meetings.

Youths of our country let us unite behind Atupele & support him all the way to sanjika. Elders have failed us. No job creation, no forex, abuse of human rights, high cost of leaving are being exprienced with this govt. Atupele dwell much on how are you going to address the above.
