Violence as Wanderers stage thrilling comeback against Bullets

Mighty Wanderers staged a stunning fight back as Loti Kamanga’s late equaliser rescued a dramatic 2-2 draw against rivals Big Bullets in one of the exciting games that was marred with violence at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.
The blues seemed to be heading for a defeat as Gabardine Mhango gave the Bullets the lead which was cancelled by Anthony Banda before a teasing free kick by Douglas Chirambo silenced the Nyerere stand after the interval.
The two teams were meeting in a friendly match which was organized by Kings Marketing Agency in an aim to promote the replica jerseys for the two out-fits.
Drama
There was drama during half time as the officiating personnel refused to continue handling the match demanding the organizers of the game to pay them their dues in advance.
There was panic as both teams were onto the field of play while the match officials remained in their dressing room demanding for their payment before they resumed the second half.
It took the intervention of Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers officials, Football Association of Malawi commercial manager Casper Jangale, Kamuzu Stadium manager a Mr Mhango to persuade the referees to continue with the match.
When Bullets scored, a female supporter invaded the stands of the blues mocking them, a development which did not go well with Wanderers fans who punched the lady.
Violence erupted between supporters of the two camps who exchanged blows and missiles resulting into the police firing teargas on the Nomads stand.
Post-match interview
Mighty Wanderers coach Franco Ndau was delighted with the result describing it as better things to come as he was trying new faces.
“I am happy with the performance by my players because most of them were new faces. I rested many of my first team side,” said Ndawa.
His counterpart for Bullets, Eding’ton Ng’onamo also praised his side for the result but blamed the referee for denying them two goals.
“They denied us two clear goals but all the same it was just a friendly match,” said Ng’onamo.
In another match, Blantyre United defeated Escom United 2-1.

going by the two teams’ performance and standings on table,I think Bullets has really improved.However these teams are the center peace of soccer in Nyasaland.Keep the kettle boiling,Nyerere and Mauletsi.
