  1. Thanks Mr Pierra for pumping some sense to some corrupt officials of this government.I hope the regulators are taking your advises with sober minds because some big fish are behind the scenes. They are trying to cut corners inorder to suffocate
Air Malawi at the expense of desperate passengers. They did the same with KENYA AIRWAYS to operate between LILONGWE and LUSAKA without considering the plight of the country. The same government granted operating rights to ZAMBEZI AIRLINES to operate between LILONGWE and DAR.Thanks to TANZANIAN government for protecting their economy and embrassing the then Minister of transport.
The Minister of Transport shud come in the open and tell the nation if SWIFT is operating like a charter company on Johannesburg route or a Commercial Airline. Then Air Malawi shud check the website for SWIFT because they are using http://www.shift airmalawi.com and i was wondering if its proper for them to use AIRMALAWI.Anything is possible with this government and Air Malawi shud open their ayes.

  2. …whatever the case; i hope DCA Regulatory due process is carried out to protect both [a]the travelling citizens, and [b]the government.

a] travelling customers – the fare charged must be clear in policy with means checked compensation including insurance as per IATA rules all built-in.
b] thorough check to avoid government embarrassment in the event this was backed by a major player airline via the back door.

…in case of [a] regulatory could impose a surity deposit with dca to cater for the event where they fail to meet their commitment and leave passengers stranded. the pot can be used to pay compensation and re-book the passengers.

…case [b] requires proper fit-for-business checks including cover- staff costs, maintenance costs, lease costs, aircrew checks for licence and reccurrent training provisions, etc.

all-in-all, a very welcome progression.I wish them all the luck and fun. I hope they don’t run before mastering how to walk!!!!

  5. Its good news and a very welcome develop because Malawian travellers are suffering since Air Malawi stopped operating on the route. However a word of caution to SIDIK MIA and his corrupt politicians behind this deal, please find way out for Air Malawi. MWAMVEKHA and his crew are not sincere and trying everything possible to wind up the national carrier so that they shud advance their agendas. He is blocking every effort and opportunity for Air Malawi so that they shud get shares with new operators like SHIFT AIR & JETLINK. Government please pay Air Malawi employees because they are tired with your shit and
MWANAMVEKHA is behind the closing down of Air Malawi.
ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES is closing down in Malawi because it cannot externalise its funds and other foreign operators will follow suit shortly. They have instructed travel agents of Malawi to stop selling tickets because Malawi Government is failing to externalise their money. This is the business opportunity and more reason we need a National Career to fill the gap and reduce loss of foreign currency which SOUTH AFRICAN, KENYA AIRWAYS and ETHIOPIA are awaiting to externalise to their respective countries. Where is Malawi heading to?

if you have seen their flyers you will see that pali boeing 737-200 even in their adverts they are saying they have leased a boeing 120 seater by the way the last time iflew with swift they were using an ambrear which was a30 seater so now with aboeing all that you have said is irrelevant

Bravo Swift Air. This is long overdue. Other Airways amva mbebe. This will bring in stiff competition to the other unrealistic airlines. For those who do not know, the fares from LLW to JHB were very atrocious and inhibiting. It was cheaper to fly to London (UK) from JHB, than to fly to Lilongwe from the same, amazing, isn’t it? Keep the burner up Swift Air, we salute you.

    Well-loved. Like Thumb up 4
