Malawian family drag South Africa Police to court: Claim Mwasinga was shot

Family members of a Malawian man identified as Daud Mwasinga who was exclusively reported by Nyasa Times that he killed himself at Hillbrow in South Africa on Tuesday this week have launched a court battle against South African Police accusing them of fatally shooting their relative.

A well placed source said Mwasinga had a quarrel with his wife Vickie Masuku after suspecting that the wife was having a secret affair and that she had a baby he believes belongs to the secret lover.

But it has emerged that Mwasinga was allegedly shot before he jumped from his flat in the process of commiting suicide.

“It is true that that the family has opened a case of man-slaughter against South African Police after realising that the police shot him before he steped up to jump from the flat.” said a source.

The deceased stabbed his wife Vickie Masuku in the rib before jumping from a flat with the controversial child (on the middle in the picture) in his hands.

The wife and the baby are battling for their lives at Johannesburg Hospital in South African.

“Vicckie has improved and her condition is stable but the child who sustained a swollen head and blood clot in his brain is still battling for his life” said the source.

Late Mwasinga hails from Chilumba in Karonga and is survived by a wife and two children.
