Malawian kills himself after ‘wife’ cheats: Posts ‘suicide note’ on Facebook
A Malawian man has killed himself in the mountainous district of Mulanje after his pregnant girlfriend, who he only got engaged to barely two months ago, allegedly cheated on him with another man, Police have confirmed.
The deceased, Alfred Chitsanzo Machado, a clinical officer and owner of Machado who originally hailed from Nchalo Chikhwawa district but settled in Mulanje where he was operating his clinic hanged himself purportedly after his other half, Aida Kasongo over and over again cheated on him with a man identified as Fredman Mselemu.
The late Machado is said to have confronted both his girlfriend who is reportedly ‘preggers’ with his child and Mselemu to stop seeing each other but the two lovebirds couldn’t get off each other.
A source close to the deceased confided in Nyasa Times that Machado had more than once confronted both his spouse, Aida and Mselemu to stop bonking each other but the two couldn’t put a stopper to their illicit affair.
“The late Machado loved Aida with everything he had. He tried to stop his woman and her lover from engaging themselves in an illegitimate sexual affair to no avail. He felt he had nothing else to live for after his love of his life had betrayed him. He was a very good man and it is very sad that he decided to take his own life,” said the source who did not want to be identified.
Just before killing himself, Machado announced his intentions that he was going to commit suicide in an unusual manner by posting a ‘suicide note’ on social media.
He posted on his Facebook page declaring that he felt betrayed by the world and at the same time bidding farewell to family and friends while at the same time telling both his ‘dear wife’ and her lover to enjoy themselves as an item freely.
“To Fredman Mselemu now you will have peace, no more intimidation, to my dear wife Aida, I love you so much. Now have your peace, no more intimidation. Keep my unborn child and call him or her Peace. My parents, I love you so much. My kids God will you grow and you will be wise,” Machado posted on his Facebook Timeline before killing himself.
He added: “I have found no peace on the land, I don’t get love. And it’s pity that every time ndimaona ngati ndikuyesetsa koma people don’t appreciate. Why always me? I Hope my dear wife, Aida you will get the best love and care in Fredman Mselemu. I am gone too soon, but kwa onse amene ndinawalakwira andikhululukire. Please write your RIP’s below!”
The remains of the late Machado have since been taken to his home village in the Lower Shire in Nchalo, Chikhwawa for burial.
