Malawian mother delivers strange looking baby
A Malawian woman in the lakeshore district of Salima has given birth to a weird-looking baby, the first ever such case to be reported in the country’s history.
The baby has very strange features that have left Malawians disturbed and astounded.
Born to a mother believed to be in her 30s, the baby has a white face, bulging eyes and over-sided red lips (as seen on the picture).
The mother’s particulars have not yet been established but it is reported that she already has two other children and has accepted whatever God has given her.
Some medical officials in the district say the baby was born with such features because the mother lacked proper food in her body during pregnancy, a claim many Malawians are not convinced with.
But health experts are yet to give their official position on the matter.
The birth of the bizarre baby has caused a rumpus as people from surrounding areas troop to the area to see it with some attributing to supernatural powers or witchcraft.
Others believe the baby must have been deformed due to effects of some traditional concoctions generally used by rural Malawians.
