Malawian producer nominated for South African Hip Hop awards

Malawian producer, Gemini Major has been nominated for South African 2015 Hip Hop awards scheduled to take place on 9 December at Lyric theatre.

The announcement was made on Friday, 30 October through the event’s twitter page @SA_HipHopAwards.

Reacting to the news, Gemini Major said the nomination came as a surprise and he was humbled to be nominated alongside South Africa’s best Hip Hop producers such as Anatti, Riky Rick, Ganja Beats and Tweezy.

“Thank God for the blessings, this is one step closer, thanks to everyone who got nominated,” said the producer-cum-rapper, who is signed to Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree record label.

This year’s event is being celebrated under the theme “African by nature” as they look at what the influence African heritage has had on South African Hip Hop scene.
