Malawian woman burn herself due to conflicts with husband
Malawi Police in eastern city of Zomba have confirmed that a woman on Tuesday doused her clothes with flammable liquid and set herself on fire after picking a quarrel with her husband on family issues.
The woman is severely injured but circumstances leading to the self-immolation are not clear .
“ We understand there was a domestic dispute before the incident and we are still investigatingr.” Eastern Region Police spokesperson Sb-Inspector Thomeck Nyaude told Nyasa Times .
She went to her husband’s office, left the baby in the office with the husband and went behind the shop pouring herself paraffin and set herself on fire.
The woman started screaming for help and the ones who saw her pouring what they thought was perfume quickly went to her rescue and was rushed to Zomba Central hospital treatment.
