Malawi’s Afro-pop star Piksy to launch his own band
Celebrated Afro Pop youthful musician Piksy real name Evans Zangazanga has revealed his plans to establish his own musical band in the near future.
Through his Facebook page, Piksy Friday made the revelation however he said the name of the yet to be established band is yet to be announced.
The artist who has a single solo album titled ‘Maso’ to his credit has confirmed the development.
“Yes, I will be having my own band, the band that people will relate me to and I believe this is the right time to launch this band. On the other hand, I am also launching my new album this year and we have big plans that definitely need a band.
“Besides, my own resources, I am currently on this project receiving support from my manager Promise Matatiyo. But as you know I also have the support of Airtel Malawi and of course from all my fans,” Piksy told Mana.
The fast growing artist who recently won the special media award in the Musicians Association of Malawi (MAM) Awards says he has confidence in the coming band.
“People should expect a band that will play my music exactly as it is done in the studios. I have the best guys and we are rehearsing very hard to give out the best quality music.
“Also, I will write songs for the band and their singles will be out before I launch my album. However, I would not wish to say much but our work output will speak a lot of itself,” said the Airtel brand ambassador.
