“WBC Isaac Chilemba (22-2-2, 9 KO’s) dominated Russian Denis Grachev (13-3-1, 8 KO’s) in beating him by a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision. The final judges scored were 99-91, 99-91, 100-90. The more experienced Chilemba calmly picked off the hard hitting Grachev from the outside all night long, and was able to control the action with his superior hand speed. Grachev suffered a bad cut on the side of his left eye,” stated a report on Boxing News

East Side Boxing Ring reported that the Godlben Boy dominated the fight.

“Chilemba countered Grachev all night long and did a good job of jabbing him. Grachev landed an occasional big shot, but he was getting hit a lot by Chilemba’s combinations, and that was the difference in the fight. The judges scored it 99-91, 99-91, 100-90.”

Fight News described The Golden Boy’s triumph as a walkover.

“In the co-feature of the seven bout card promoted by Main Events and televised live on NBCSN, saw light heavyweight contender Isaac Chilemba (22-2-2, 9 KOs) put on a boxing exhibition in winning a completely one sided ten round unanimous decision victory over “Drago’s Son” Denis Grachev (13-3-1, 8 KOs).”

On his Facebook page, Chilemba posted a quote from one of the reports carried after the victory.

“For Chilemba, this was a solid win where he boxed nicely, stuck to his game plan, and did what he had to do.”

Another report stated that Chilemba’s faster jabs and good defence kept the Russian former world kick boxing champion at bay.

Grachev began to tire from the constant shots that caught him as he lunged in as the rounds progressed.

Chilemba was in control throughout the bout with his faster hands and good defense. By round seven Grachev was cut both under and over the right eye. Late in the seventh Chilemba avoided a lunging rush and spun him around with a big right hand and left hook. The upper cuts from Chilemba were now finding their mark.

Following the victory Chilemba said after the fight that he’s looking to get a title shot against the likes of Adonis Stevenson.
