Malawi’s Chiotcha dates Ugandan boxer for Africa title

Malawian boxer Chimwemwe Chiotcha dates Uganda’s Med Sebyala in an Africa Super Featherweight title bout scheduled for February 28 at MTN Lugogo Area in Kampala.

Chiotcha, who is in camp preparing for the fight, said he was ready to win the title.

“I am training hard to win because there’s a lot at stake,” Chiotcha said.

“I know it will be tough but with good officiation I should not have any excuse.”

But his opponent has vowed to put to good use the home advantage to win as she was quoted by Boxing news.

“I hope to finish the business by the 5th round and people go back home early and rest”, Sebyala remarked at a special launch of the fight held at Mount Zion Hotel in Kampala on Tuesday.

The boxer boats of an impressive record with no loss from the 10 bouts he has fought winning nine with one draw while Chiotcha has 13 fights, 10 wins and 3 losses under his belt.

The fight will be televised live on NBS Television after Intersport International, the fight promoters signed a lucrative deal with the television station last week.

Other fights on the day will see Hudson Muhumuza battle Kenneth Odeke in the heavy weight catergory while Edward ‘Messiah’ Kakembo will fight Raymond ‘Desert Lion’ Ssentongo in the Super Batam Weight.

Ssentongo amused everyone when he turned up with a hummer, signaling what he will use to knock out Kakembo.

In the super welter weight catergory, Badru ‘Mr Crush’ Lusambya faces Tanzania’s Yazidi Saidi while Juma Waiswa will battle Patrick Atuhairwe in the other super welter weight.
