According to FAM Youth Development Officer James Sangala, the break is due to the festival season but pointed out that it will not affect the calendar of the league as the games will resume on 16th January 2016.

Sangala said the league has made progress and it has been exciting.

“We started on a low note with few games at the beginning as we were forced to re work the fixtures but now we are back on track and in full swing,” he said.

He also added that the South Eastern Region will have three rounds of matches unlike the Central which will have two rounds because there few teams in the South. The South has seven teams while the Centre has 11.

This means each team in the South Eastern region will play 18 games over 3 rounds while in the Central region, each team will play 20 games over 2 rounds.

Mangochi lead the log table in the South Eastern with nine points from three games while Lilongwe Rural East lead the Centre league on goal difference  as they have nine points from three matches just like second placed Salima.
