Malawian journalist who works for Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Peter Kanjere has been voted as the outstanding and best writer of the 2013 Cosafa tournament which ended on Saturday.
Members of the written and photographic Press were asked to submit their work during the 2013 Cosafa edition to a panel of judges so that they select the best articles and photograph.
Kanjere, who is also Sports Writers Association of Malawi (SWAM), President emerged the winner at a draw held in Ndola on Friday night.
“The winner of the writing competition was Peter Kanjere for work submitted to the Malawian daily, The Nation” reads a statement released by Cosafa.

“The winning article was well researched with quotes that add value to the story. It is also written in an easily-readable, conversational style.”

He has won several other awards in recent months as he was named the best print reporter for the Standard Bank Knock-Out Trophy in November last year and in March this year, he was also voted the best print journalist for the TNM Super League.
However, the winner of the photographic prize went to a Zambian Jean Ndayisenga Mandela, who also pocketed R10 000.
