Malawi’s Ng’ambi on goal scoring form in South Africa

Malawian midfielder Robert Ng’ambi is having good times in South Africa as he keeps on scoring for his team Platinum Stars.

On Saturday Ng’ambi put Stars ahead inside four minutes when he headed home a free-kick from Thuso Phala against Chippa Stars in the Absa Premier League

Ng’ambi was inches away from restoring his side’s lead when he connected with Vuyo Mere’s cross, but his header came back off the crossbar.

The Malawian midfield workhorse also helped his side to reach the semi-finals of Nedbank Cup since the 2006/07 season when he scored the decisive winner against Mamelod Sundowns with the simplest of tap-in.

The former Big Bullets star was recently included in Soccer Laduma magazine’s team of the week.

“I am very happy that I am doing well over here. I hope that will be able to maintain the good start and keep scoring goals for my team. I am working very hard to keep my place in the starting line-up. Everything is just fine for me and I am pleased with my contribution as well,” said Ng’ambi.
