Man raptures girl’s private parts: Arrested
Police at Liwonde Township in Malawi’s eastern district of Machinga have arrested a 54-year-old man Andrew Joseph for allegedly defiling and damaging private parts of an eleven-year-old girl.
Inspector John Makolija of Liwonde Police station told Nyasa Times that Joseph has been sleeping with the victim at his house in Maungulu village after he chased away his wife.
“The girl who is in standard three used to go to the suspect’s house to help him with household chores. This is where the man took advantage of the situation and was defiling her every time she went to his house”, said Makolija.
Makolija said the girl’s parents got surprised with their daughter’s movement, “and when they asked her she revealed she was sleeping with “her husband” referring to the suspect, for several times.
This is what forced the parents to report the matter to Liwonde police, who arrested the suspect on Thursday 22 August.
Medical test conducted at Machinga District hospital have confirmed that the man has been defiling the victim on several occasions evidenced by the raptured private parts.
Meanwhile, the suspect is being held at Liwonde police and is expected to appear in court onMonday August 26 to answer a defilement case which is contrary to section 138 of the penal code.
The suspect, a local farmer hails from Maungulu village, traditional authority Nsanama in Machinga district.
