Maskal breaks silence, announces new music and album

You probably have been wondering what musician Maskal has been up to considering his silence on new album release.

Maskal is back with new music

The SingJay last released an album on November 4, 2012, and it has taken him exactly three years and 12 days to announce a new album.

While announcing new singles “Mnyumba Mwanga” and “Gwiritsa”, Maskal on Monday revealed that his next album after the 2012 “Umunthu” will be coming out in 2016.

Making the announcement on his Facebook page, the singer, who last put out new material in October 2014, the song “Ona”, did not however disclose the exact release dates for the latest singles and album.

“Hey everyone out there! It’s been a minute but hey I’m back with new singles, titled “Mnyumba Mwanga” and “Gwiritsa”. I’ll be announcing the release date pretty soon.” He told his followers.

The singer, who even cut on public performances of late, added: “[I have] been on the low key ’cause I’ve been in the kitchen cooking something for you and let me proudly share the good news with you, we have the new album almost ready; it will be coming out in 2016!!”.

Meanwhile, the response from Maskal’s followers, looking at their comments on his post, show that fans have been keenly looking forward to more of the singer’s new music and full album.

The 2016 yet-to-be-titled album will be Maskal’s third project. Before “Umunthu”, the artist released his debut “Nthawi” in 2011.

people always wish to listen to something for someone who has been silent for so long…..not each and every week a song on malawi-music for just the same artist…it becomes boring even if the artist is talented.

hope the album is dope
