In the ladies category, Ruth Mvula was top of the notch and Airtel spoiled her with a trophy. Wilson stand bag, ipad mini and a 2GB memory stick.
“I wish more and more corporate players could be spoiling us this way. I am so thankful and I appeal to men to empower their wives into golf players so that we grow this sport in the women’s league as well,” she said amidst applauds from men who dominated the venue in numbers.
In his remarks, Airtel Malawi Managing Director Heiko Schlittke said the Mzuzu golf tourney was a completion of the golf crusade that Airtel had undertaken recently.
“We have been so impressed by the golfers across Malawi. We appreciate their participation in our tournaments and this demonstrates the golfers’ high level commitment towards uplifting our investment in the sport of golf,” said Schlittke who teed off the tourney.
