MBC TV cameraman Chauluka who insulted JB gets demotion: Witchunt
Six months after Bright Malopa was booted out of state brodcaster MBC as Director General, his troops are still harvesting what they together planted, the recent being Lapken Chauluka a Cameraman who has been demoted to a studio Cameraman, for publicly insulting President Joyce Banda when he was the vice president.
A source at MBC TV in Blantyre said Chauluka on Monday 29th October 2012 receive a letter instructing him to be the studio cameraman at the Lilongwe Area 4 Studios.
It further indicated that Mr Chauluka should at all coast never work outside the studios and he should never cover any VVIP including presidential functions.
Chauluka surprised the nation when he came on air on MBC TV and MBC Radio to insult and challenge Joyce Banda when she was the vice president in the DPP Government. He categorically insulted JB on TV and Radio
He told the nation that “Joyce Banda is a very difficult woman to work with, She is a very bad woman and does not know what she wants and that she is not photogenic, meaning no matter how good you set the camera, she does not look nice on TV.”
It is reported that Chauluka was doing this to please both Malopa and Chimwemwe Banda who were then championing the anti- Joyce Banda campaign on TV and radio. In turn he was being favoured on presidential foreign trips.
Chauluka has joined the likes of Malopa troops; Timpuza Mwamsambo who was transferred to Mzuzu, Mgeme Kalirani who was moved to the legal office, Phirip Business, Mzati Mkolokosa Steven Maseya who were publicly insulting and challenging JB when she was vice president.
