The website, http://joynathu.com/ which is now up and running with more content to be added later comes at a time after the DJ had launched a new radio show “Made on Monday” which airs on Monday from 9pm to midnight.

Speaking to Nyasa Times, DJ Joy said both the website and the radio show aims at helping push Malawian music to greater heights.

“My job requires me to identify and promote local talent that stands out and the website shall go a long way in helping me continue achieving this. We will have podcasts later when everything is finalised. We are working one stage at a time. I shall have a YouTube channel as well,” said DJ Joy.

He added that having a personal website has been his long time ambition to reach out to people who listen to his shows and also have internet access by providing them something in return for their support.

“My website also aims to let people download all the good local music that I play on my shows. For a long time people have been bothering me to get access or to send them music played on my shows and I could not distribute music as I never had control. But my website shall be able to assist in that area.

“And as people may be aware music played on my shows is of good quality. The website shall also allow people from outside the country to be able to catch up on latest trends in Malawian music by bringing hot new artists as well as ground breaking new songs,” explained the legendary DJ.

DJ Joy also pointed out that his expectation is high because he knows Malawians will embrace his site well knowing that this is something that a lot of people have been wishing for.

He stated: “In many countries you have DJs who have their own website and this being the first in Malawi am positive that many music living Malawians will fall in love with the site. Needless to say that the work being put into the site is huge and am sure people shall enjoy the end product.”

“Made on Monday” radio show which will also be featured on the site has new premieres, a local urban chart at 10 and live interaction through calls and Facebook plus Twitter.
