MCP holds future for Malawi

We left Kasungu two days ago and we are now here in Mchinji for a brief but serious one-day official event. We have been prompted by the (not-so) Democratic People’s Party (DPP)’s campaign tactics.  You see, the DPP campaign machine is already spending sleepless nights as though the party is out of government. The DPP knows the next election is almost four years away but in DPP political theory, everyday is campaign day.

Lazarous Chakwera: MCP president

Lazarous Chakwera: MCP president

Some of us were born at night, but it was not last night. Yes, we may be outside the DPP house, but we can still see what is inside that party. We see campaigning in all this presidential gallivanting and helicoptering from district to district to lay this foundation stone here today and open that project there tomorrow. It is not necessarily in the national interest it is draining Malawi’s shoestring already-cashgated resources. The party is more interested  in the 2019 elections than in sorting out today’s woes.

That’s what all this full page newspaper advertisement of the party’s self-declared achievements and fulfilment of campaign promises means. All this bill-boarding, all this symbolic annihilation of opposition personalities on the Mutharika, sorry, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation TV is a campaign tactic for 2019.

There is one thing we admire about this party of death and darkness. This is that the party is not afraid of raising controversy. Recently, it held a news conference where it announced that it had introduced user fees in some hospitals. When some chiefs and poor villagers protested, the party came back to deny what it said. It even used such strong words as null and void. The other day it raised salaries for the presidency only to come back and rejected the salaries.

Those who care will remember that a man pretending to be disgruntled with the DPP has been all over the internet condemning the party in power and his own colleagues. But, we are not children. We know this is the same party campaigning. It is trying to show that it can tolerate criticism. Soon, and very soon, we will hear that the same person is back into the mainstream.

Recently we heard someone say “dziko lino ndi la fodya”. Far from being a gaffe, this is another campaign tactic, saying something people can always remember. We have learned from the DPP that one can still make news even when there is nothing newsworthy. That is why we are here. Before coming here, we bought enough blue, yellow, green and orange paint. We also procured enough paintbrushes. We are here, in Mchinji, to paint the cell in which we were once incarcerated and to write some graffiti thereunto.

“Tell us, what really happened for you to be incarcerated?”

“Sometime in 1987, we came here to play volleyball against a team that was named Mchinji district select….”

“You came here from where?” asked Abiti Joyce Befu, also known as MG 66, our leader of expedition.

“That’s immaterial!” I challenged.

“Why?” MG 66 challenged.

“Because the past is immaterial. It’s gone with its agonies and beauties. Edward Chitsulo used to say, to achieve great things in life, forget about the past; look ahead instead,” I said.

“Okay… continue your story…” Native Authority Mandela urged me.

“So, during the volleyball game, I smashed the ball into one of the girls that came to watch us play. The girl went to report to her father who identified me as the smasher. The police came to pick not only me but also my teammates…”

“For what?” Sheikh Jean-Philippe LePossoin screamed.

“The girl I had hit with that ball was the MCP Mchinji district chairman’s daughter,” I said.

“So what?” Jean-Philippe probed.

“The incident was deemed premeditated and we deserved to be punished,” I said.

“You must be joking!” Jean-Philippe said.

“Joking? We were locked up and released without being questioned,” I said, adding that when we tried to find out why we were not asked even a single question, the criminal investigation officer told us we would have to spend another night in the cell if we really wanted to have our statements recorded.

“The MCP has a very bad past, indeed,” Jean-Philippe concluded.

“Yeah, but it’s the only party that holds the future of this country. Unlike others, it has paid enough for its dirty past. It is the only party that knows what Malawians wanted,” Native Authority Mandela said authoritatively.

Someone said MCP will never rule Malawi again because of the past atrocities. I wish to say that you can only say that “may be in your life time.” MCP as a party can be there in the next 100 years and all of you who hpld on to the past are gone, some young and more intelligent people will put it into power. Only that you be not be one of the witn3

hweey MCP we love you we are people of the southern region.we are surprised that you are still concentrating your campaign tactics in your central region stronghold.why dont u come to the southern region districts and revamp the party structures?this is the time to work and resurrect the party in the southern region.we all know how powerfull our party is in the central and north but this is the time to concentrate on the south.if we put resources in the south we can easily win the elections come 2019.lets start the work now.lets plan and strategise henceforth.

The only political party which can develop our beautiful country is AFoRD. MCP failed, UDF brought poverty, DPP brought unemployment in Malawi. Now many Malanians are all over the world looking for jobs because of DPP
Now time has come for Malawians to vote for.AFORD party.

  15. Malawianmom says:

Mr Kabudula # 8. Malawi is in this shit; because of people who think like you. Malawi is a rich country. Look at our mountains, the lakes, the huge rivers around the nation, our beautiful treees that we are letting the chines to take it to there home. End result they turn around produce furniture, which we end up buying from them and pay thousand of dollers from them, in excharge of small things like a stadium! Please!!!!. What is a stadium to a local, who eat a stadium, and how often to do you use the stadium, who benifit from it????????????????????????? WE should be demanding state of the art hospitals to all the
district in our Nation, where the poor can get all the help they needs.

Its about time the chiefs need to stand up for their people, they should be demanding from government better home for their local citizen. we need state of the art apartments( flants) for each village chief to house their locals. This is possible in Malawi and Malawi Gv can aford it.

If you ask me? its the people who are in the lead, and the leaders, who does not understand how to gurd Malawi as a nation.

Just look at the money spend to put up that Hotel in Lilongwe, we have not even used it yet. if that money was put to a better use, like great hospital stocked up with necessary medicine, owesome medical Dr’s, and nurses. would Bingu died like a chicken just like that? No!

Think Malawians, thnk. What happened to Bingu then; can happen to any one of us,or any one holding the over raw office today, and all of its citizen. Leadership is to be able to think out of the box.

our own chiefs to the very day are not yet trained to be able to handle things like sesaster, and floods. MG need to do that. What happened to our ANDUMELE MWENYE we need to have those , back. They used to be able to mobilize THINGS WELL. COURT ORDERS WERE Saved in timely manner. Between the MG, The DC,and the chiefs, they were able to mobilize its citizen to safe places during our times. we used to have floods, when shire was shire river then ask chankwamba that river is on his den,and floods used to be real flood, not what you have seen this year. Then, Malawi was never in the world news.

You had to have good quality of education to be able to work in the Malawi government. Staff in MG did what they were hired to do. Man the Malawi office like a real man. If you were there, and was reported doing something wrong, and if you were warned, and never dared to stop it, the Government during my time never wanted anyone poluting our nation with ill ideas, that will slow down development. You ended up to be a clocks meal, and history.

Back in the days, people were able to report ill ideas, and we never had things like the:

    CASH GATE.

PEOPLE WERE DESPLINED, WE HAD OUR FOUR CONER STONES TO FOLLOW. AM WONDERING WHY THE DPP IS NOT USING THOSE 4 COVER STONES. ITS IN OUR BLUE PRINT,FOR ANYONE IN THE OVER RAW OFFICE TO USED THEM WISELY, NOT INHUMANELY.

OUR HOSPITAL WERE REALY HOSPITAL NOT A DEATH BED

OUR COURT SYSTEM IS WHERE THE LOCAL CITIZEN WERE ABLE TO GET JUSTICE.

TEACHERS USED TO BE PAID IN TIME.

QUALITY OF EDUCATION WAS REAL THEN,WHERE A STANDARD EIGHT STUDENT, WOULD GET WHAT A UNIVERSITY GRADUATE OF MALAWI IS GETING TODAY.

THE COSUMER OFFICE WERE HANDLED BY REAL MEN,NO ONE IN ANY WALK OF LIFE WILL DARE SALE FAKE ,OR EXPARED ITEM IN ANY ONE OF THE STORES IN MALAWI. MOST COMMODITIES WERE QUALITY,AND ALWAYS PRICE RIGHT, WE NEVER SAW COSUMER BOSS IN THE NEWS PAPERS DURING MY TIME,BECAUSE THEY WERE ALWAYS ON TOP OF EVERYTHING, AND MANNED THE OFFICE WITH DIGINITY.

WATER BOARD WAS ALWAYS ON ITS TOES. NEVER DID I EVER HEAR OF BLANTYRE,LILONGWE RANNING DRY, BACK IN THE DAYS. KAMUZU BANDA MUST HAVE BEEN TURNING IN HIS GRAVE.

AS A MOTHER, i DO WONDER,AND WORRY MOST OF THE TIME TO WHAT I READ HEAR, AND SEE THAT, IF OUR QUALITY OF EDUCATION IS THIS LOW TO DAY. HOW DO WE CHOOSE A QUALITY LEADER TO LEAD US TODAY?

i DO NOT FIND ANYthing wrong with the Youth Leagues AS ,it helps to keep them out of the strees of Malawi. The youth leagues when used wisely, they do a commanderble job. But not what I see today. WHAT DO YOU CALL THEM TODAY? CADATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do anyone think of it as I do???????? I don’t know, your answers are as good as mine.

Look at our court system today; we used to have black, white, and indian lowyers back in the days. Then JUSTICE USED TO BE SAVED.

LET US ALL HOLD HANDS IT ,DOES NOT MATTER WHERE WE COME FROM NORTH SOUTH,CENTRAL. WE ARE ONE MALAWI, TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE MALAWI ABETTER PLACE TO LIVE.
LET US ALL THINK OUT OF THE BOX. FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION TO COME.

  16. Chillungamo says:

Keep on visiting other districts so that people may know you very well. In chichewa there is asay kudumpa dzenje ndikuchokera kutali pliz take my wortds and you will see that come 2019 you will scores a lot of votes. You can see now that kwacha gain power during tobacco sales but essential things still at high prices that even villagers could not afford ie packet of Sugar which is selling at K540. There are more needs village minded person revamp not kukawanamiza during campaign time.

  17. Lupanga says:

FACT: Mcp da only strong party in Nyasaland

  18. Malindima says:

MCP to win on 2019? My foot!
No sane person from Malawi would want this blood party that killed its people brutally like:
    Gadama
    Chiwanga
    Matenje
    Orton Chirwa
    Silombera
    Dunduzu Chisiza
    Austin Madinga
    Muwalo
You see! the list is just too long for this page.
Kulanda katundu wa anthu, kuthamangitsa a Mboni
No sane Malawian from the Southern and Eastern Regions will vote for you. May be the North but the people from there also suffered a lot under this beast. Only some insane ones can vote for this stupid animal MCP who think by asking for forgiveness can erase the history for reference.

  24. Issa Kabudula says:

I don’t know if this is new report on MCP, campaign, or just a crazy joke – Mr Zeleza must explain to the nation. Mwapatsidwa ntchito as a campaign director of MCP or just an interested person of the party, we also need to know.

The facts are clear, its true that DPP is not sleeping, they are working towards 2019 in a very decisive way and its not easy kuwalanda mbale yansima ilipakamwa, may after 2024, then we can talk other parties.

DPP – when others are talking about them, they are selling the party every day. Peter Mutharika can be seen as stupid to others but to himself and the party (DPP) and the future of Malawi, it is in his blood as am writing, the man mean business. He did not come to rule the country in order to enrich himself, he is cool already interms of cash, he just need to turn the way Malawi has been ruled, and we have nothing to loss if we can just give the man time, support and an ear – lets listen from his broken Chichewa and take the facts we can be far very soon and kiss South Africa a good bye…….

  25. Maximum Prison says:

MCP will never rule Malawi again! Mark my words! It committed a lot of atrocities and can not be forgiven for that! No matter what MCP will never rule!

  26. Leveleve Nampwache says:
