Stupid Mfiti, Iwe ndiwe mfitidi eti! This guy should not mislead Malawi. He is writing here in his capacity as an environmentalist, earning a salary at the end of the month while oil drilling project will benefit even those that are not employed like him. The problem in malawi is failing to deferencite on what to do for your country and your job. We always prioritise on what to do for your job thus the case of Mtambo and Trapece. We are missing it all Malawians.

QUESTIONS TO MFITI:
1. DO YOU KNOW THE BOUNDARY OF LAKE MALAWI NATIONAL PARK?
2. DO YOU KNOW WHERE EXPLORATION OF OIL IS TAKING PLACE?
3. ARE YOU AN EXPERT IN OIL DRILLING?

YOU CAN NOT STOP OIL EXPLORATION BECAUSE THAT WILL BE THE BASIS FOR DOING COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS WHETHER TO GO FOR IT OR NOT.

Too many contradicting justifications. By the way who declared to the UN that Lake Malawi is a World Heritage and if so for what benefit? Drilling for oil on the sea beds and land has never been a welcome action. This is however done safely in the modern technology and that is why fishing is done on the seas where oil drilling takes place also. We need to deal with legislation issue to ensure all concerns are adequately covered. If you don’t want to use the Lake for oil, I suggest you Mfiti to go to the UN to demand… Read more »

Yakumbuyo,
You don’t understand what it takes to drill oil in the water bodies. Otherwise why are they not going to drill in Mchinji or Ntcheu?
