Miss Malawi UK contestants unveiled, Sept 13 event tickets on sale
Organisers of the Miss Malawi UK 2014 pageant have unveiled contestants for the crown to be contested next month in Birmingham.
Details of five girls and their photos have been made public by the pageant organisers.
The contestants include Tadu Nyasulu, Angel Kendricks, Thandi Malikha, Anna Soko, and Rose Mmangisa.
Henry Dokowe Ngwira, one of organizer of the event said they expected to have at least 10 contestants.
“We expect a tough contest and exciting event this year,” he said.
The beauty contest will see girls of Malawian origin living in the UK taking it on the catwalk in Birmingham on September 13th to select the queen.
Organisers said the show; to take place at the Banqueting Royale Suite (271 Birchfield Road, B20 3DG Birmingham) seeks to be promoting Malawi’s tourism to the UK and the rest of the world.
The reigning Miss Malawi UK is Alexina Phiri.
During the finale, Malawian artists Mlaka Maliro, Unamatamata star Piksy, Marco Sadik and Dublin based Pop Dogg are expected to perform.
Tickets for the show have gone on sale. They are £25 advance for ordinary and £45 for VIP.

Meanwhile, Kondi Bowoyeke Munthali one of the show organisers has said the contestants will be on Ben TV Tuesday next week on Pauline Long show.
Munthali said viewers will be allowed to phone in and ask questions. Ben TV is accessed on TV channel 182 on Skybox.
