Moyale add misery on Karonga, Lions beat Epac: Malawi TNM Super League

Zomba based soldiers Red Lions recovered well from their 2-1 loss to Silver Strikers on Saturday to ensure they return to the old Capital City-Zomba from the Centre with three points after beating Epac FC 1-0 on Sunday at the Civo Stadium.

The soldiers have now moved to position nine to eight which was occupied by Moyale Barracks who have gone a step up after stunning relegation candidates Karonga United 2-0 at the Mzuzu Stadium.

Karonga remain on the second from the bottom of the 16 member log table with 24 points from 27 games played so far.

Red Lions is probably the most improved team having lost only once in the second round.

They have 39 points from 28 games.

Week 30 on the TNM Super League was also superb for Mzuzu based soldiers Moyale Barracks  who have moved a step up to position sevendislodging city rivals Mzuni FC.

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers are stagnant on position six despite being awarded three points on Sunday as they were supposed to face MTV Max Bullets who threw in the towel after being fined by the Super League of Malawi.

The Nomads who already gave up on winning the title have accumulated 44 points from 27 games.

On the driving seat as of 4th November are the soldiers of Kamuzu Barracks who have collected 52 points at this far after edging Civo 1-9 on Saturday while Blue Eagles come second with 51 points.

They both have played 27 games.

Defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets are on position three with 48 points while Silver Strikers who on Saturday returned to winning ways after beating Red Lions 2-1 are fourth with 47 points.

Mafco FC completes the top five with 46 points  from 26 games the same as Silver.
