MP Bwanali demands MP Viyaji apologise for insults or face punches

Member for Parliament for Mangochi Malombe, Romeo Brown Bwanali, has given his fellow MP for Nsanje North,  Frank Viyazi  up to Friday to apologise for insulting him or else he has threatened that he will  use physical force.

Bwanali told the Speaker of Parliament, Henry Chimunthu Banda that his fellow lawmaker  uttered words of insults to him on Monday when members were clapping hands after the loan authorization bill to complete Nkhata-bay hospital was passed.

“I was the last member to clap hands and my colleague looked at me and I heard words coming from him ‘ponda pa nyoko’ a Sena language insulting my mother.

“ I told the Speakerwho said he did not hear the words but assured me that he will inquire,” he said.

Bwanali told Viyazi on the presence of the Speaker at his office that if he does not allow him to apologise publicly in the chamber before the end of business on Friday, he will blow him accordingly.

Francis Viyazyi: Insulted

He said parliament is not a playing ground where somebody can just come and utter provoking words.

“We should respect this House and let us desist from unparliamentary language and be exemplary to the future generation.”

But Viyazi refused to comment saying he will only comment on the matter after meeting the Speaker.

The Malawi National Assembly on November 24, 2011 witnessed a physical attack when  Thyolo North MP Anita Kalinde roughed up Blantyre Malabada MP Aaron Sangala after he alleged that her former husband late Marshall Mdukulira Mbwatalika, ‘The Dukes’ was involved in a body parts deal.
