Mphwiyo guarded 24/7 in hospital: Bullets removed
Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance Paul Mphwiyo who was recently shot is hospitalized under heavy security guard to Mill Park Hospital in South Africa and so far three bullets have been removed from this body.
According to sources at Milpark , Mphwiyo arrived at the hospital in a critical condition on the Friday of 13th September few days after he was shot in the Capital Lilongwe.
The source further revealed that Malawi High Commission security and South African police had been deployed “to ensure his safety.”
According to sources in South Africa, the budget official has been moved from the ICU to the surgical ward following the surgery.
Mphwiyo was shot three times by unknown assailants last Friday as he was entering his residence which is located in Area 43, Lilongwe.
Director of Clinical Services in the Ministry of Health Dr. George Chithope Mwale said Mphwiyo developed facial swellings resulting from tissue reactions.
Mphwiyo’s shooting has caused stir and others suspects he was shot because he has been discharging his duties of controlling funds in the ministry of finance perfectly.
