The first round was characterised by punches which lacked intensity as much of the time was spent on sizing each others’ powers.

However, the fight organized by Ken -One Boxing promotion saw Mdoka who had a slight height advantage over Msoliza won the first round because he connected more points than his opponent.

In round two, Mdoka again started on a high note,  giving -power punches like hooks, straight rights and  lefts uppercuts, a feat that sent his supporters on their toes celebrating.

But Mdoka after losing much of his energy on his power punches, he got tired in round three and he resolted to clinching on his opponent to evade Msoliza from beating him up.

Msoliza then battled back with repeated  head blows and left hooks to win the third round.

In round four and five , Ernest dominated the fight again before he got tired in round six granting Mdoka a chance that made him connect solid punches which inflicted damage to the nose of Msoliza who started bleeding.

Msoliza, 24, however did not give away the fight as he went on to continue where he stopped till he was declared winner on points.

First judge gave Msoliza 77 points against 75 of Mdoka. Second judge again awarded Msoliza 80 points against 79 of Mdoka while third Judge gave Mdoka a win by 78 against 77 of Msoliza, a result the Zomba fighter heavilly protested by saying he was robbed of the fight.

“Ladies and gentlemen I am not happy at the results because it is based on regionalism, so I will not fight in the north again,” said Mdoka.

But  one fan Chimwemwe  Mhango trashed the Mdoka’s sentiments saying his comments were unacceptable  in sports and he demanded a retraction .

Chairman of the Northern Region Boxing Committee, Stewart Moyo who was also chief judge in an interview said  that the fight was closely contested but Msoliza had an edge .

Promoter of the fight Philip Ngwira said he was shocked at the outburts of Mdoka.

“He is my boxer anyway and I will talk to him,” said Ngwira.

The win gives Msoliza 14 fights with 10 wins, two draws and two loses while Mdoka has fought 18 fights and has lost four.
