Msowoya woos northernors to vote for MCP

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Presidential running mate Richard Msowoya has made a strong appeal to people in northern districts of Karonga and Chitipa to vote  for his party in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking during campaign rallies in the two districts, Msowoya said MCP is aware that most people in the northern religion have a bad picture of the forthcoming election after the voter’s verification exercise was suspended in the region.

“We know that northerners have in mind that with the suspension of the exercise votes are already being stolen and they see no need of going to vote again. But I assure you that we have talked to Malawi Electoral Commission officials and they have assured us that everything is alright. The best thing is for you is to vote for MCP for the benefit of our country,” Msowoya said.

“If you are tired of discrimination you should vote for MCP. Malawians are fed up with the act of stealing of government property and to make things worse Malawians are not told the truth on who exactly stole their own money,” said Msowoya.

He said some of the party symbols themselves tell the whole story, poking fun at ruling People’s Party’s open lock symbol.

“Some party symbols tell you that there is no protection in government as the door is always open meaning that everyone can go in and take government property at any time without anybody questioning them. Is that what you want as Malawians?”

Msowoya also said Malawians don’t have the knowledge of where the proceeds from jet sales have gone.

“Until now the money is not yet in governments’ account and indeed it is not even discussed in our trusted system which is parliament. Should we continue watching that? Definitely no and you are the ones to change this by voting for MCP so that the truth should come to light,” said Msowoya.

He urged people to avoid violence and maintain peace during the campaign period.
