Msungama backs Mbebuwa, dismiss Bullets suspension

Barely few days after Bullets F.C Board of Trustees announced the suspension of its Head of Marketing Dan Mbebuwa, Nyasa Times has established that Mbebuwa is still discharging his duties despite receiving a suspension letter.

Bullets suspended Mbebuwa accusing him of failing to produce accounts reports including that of TNM Sapota Mapeto, accounts for Bullets Membership and airtime cards from Telecom Networks Malawi (TNM).

Published reports on Monday shows that even the Bullets Chairman Kondi Msungama is formally unaware of Mbebuwa’s suspension.

Msungama has however backed Mbebuwa on the delay to produce and present the accounts reports.

He has however acknowledged that the Marketing Manager needs more time to compile the reports.

Mbebuwa told Nation Newspaper dated 23rd February, 2015 that he failed to meet the deadline of submitting the reports since he was busy working on the clubs trip to Comoros Island to fulfill its Confederation of African Football (CAF) preliminary first leg match against Fomboni F.C

“I have written them [trustees] outlining why I have not submitted the reports. The thing is that I was very busy planning the team’s trip to Comoros. I was virtually working around the clock so I have asked for abit more time” Mbebuwa is quoted as saying.

According to the paper, the Bullets Head of Marketing was asked to produce the accounts reports on two occasions through letters dated 27th November, 2014 and 5th January, 2015 respectively which he never did.

Bullets Board of Trustees General Secretary Jim Kalua could not be reached for his comment as we went to press.
