Mutharika to act on Defence Minister over leaked nude video: PAC demands Ghambi resignation

Presidential Spokesperson and State House Press Secretary Mgeme Kalirani has confirmed that President Peter Mutharika will act on allegations of a leaked nude video of the Deputy Minister of Defence Vincent Ghambi once a report is presented to the Malawi leader.

Kalirani confirmed the development with MIJ FM radio a day after Mutharika jetted into the country from his prolonged trip in United States of America (USA).

Mutharika flew to USA last month to participate at this year’s 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The DPP law-maker is believed to have sent a nude video clip of himself tossing with his private parts to a wrong person which later went viral on various social media outlets.

The Minister denied his involvement in the act and claimed the video clip was doctored by people who do not wish him well.

His alleged self-styled porn act attracted alot of attention from the general public who called for his immediate resignation or else be fired.

In a latest call, Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has joined the band wagon by calling for an immediate resignation from the ‘dishonourable’ minister following his shameful acts.

“The man is a servant of the nation and need to be exemplary” said PAC Spokesperson Augustin Mulomole in an interview with MIJ radio.

Mulomole said if it was in other countries like America or Europe, the minister could have automatically resigned or fired but he still hold his position to date because “ethics do not apply here in Malawi”.

Unconfirmed reports indicates that Ghambi has been having a secret affair with one of the DPP Sendera sisters-a grouping of women who sing praise song for the rulling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

At a first glance, one would applaud the government for promising to take action. But, wait a minute… Did the president’s press secretary say ‘once a report is presented to the Malawi leader’? I have a problem with that. The president’s office is such an organized, serious office that cannot rush to comment on something so embarrassing as the minister’s scandal before they (the president’s office) got something tangible on the scandal. I suspect that the office has a complete dossier on the matter but they are deliberately creating an excuse for not taking further action. You see, the next… Read more »

The involvement of Ministers in theft and such dishobourable acts is as a result of the sleepiness of Professor Peter Muthalika in handling sensitive issues. It is an open secret that Peter Muthalika as he is known will just sleep over the Honorable Ng’ambi issue as he slept with the issue of his seven rotten Ministers. Why on earth were we given such a sleepy professor out of the so many brilliant Malawians around??????

I thought it’s u Malawians who are sleepless. JB said and she pleaded that recount votes but u let APM steal votes. Peter did not hide that he will carry on like his brother. What did u expect that meant. Enjoy yourself as this is what u beded and now u can sleep on. There is still many who think Peter is OK. I think u derseve the life u are living.

No wakwiya. Malawians don’t deserve this. They haven’t had enough yet. This is nothing compared to what is yet to come. That is the time they will get what they deserve. Time is coming when they will start using dry cell batteries for their radios, akaloboli for lighting, zitsime zokoka ntauni for water, pit latrines in area 47, nkhoswe for stomachech, chilumiko for headaches etc.. That’s when they will have what they deserve.
