President Peter Mutharika leaves for the United States of America (USA) in about a week for this year’s International Conservation Caucus gala in Washington DC, Nyasa Times has learnt.
The Malawi leader has been invited as guest speaker and will deliver keynote address, state house press office said.
“The ICC is a gathering for conservationists from the corporate, NGO, and government communities to promote US leadership in the sound management of the world’s natural resources,” a statement inviting the president to the gala read.
About 500 other guests at the gala will include international heads of state, members of the US cabinet, as many as 80 Members of Congress, world business leaders, American celebrities, and leaders from the international NGO community.
“This impressive cross-sectoral audience offers an unparalleled opportunity special guest speakers to simultaneously address the largest bipartisan caucus, numerous high-level foreign delegations, and influential business and conservation leaders about the need for international conservation engagement, cooperation, and action,” the statement added.
Mutharika is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) CEO Ms. Dana Hyde.
MCC has provided a multimillion dollar grant to the Malawi government to upgrade its power generation.
Also, Mutharika will meet Mr. James C. Nicholas, Executive Partner for Global Business Resources USA and his team.
Last, Mutharika is expected to meet professors from the universities of Dayton and OHIO plus Universal Leaf Company CEO, among others.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
