Mutharika leaves for Addis to attend AU Summit

Malawian President Peter Mutharika will on  Wednesday January 28; leave the country for Ethiopia where he is scheduled to attend the 24th Ordinary African Union (AU) Assembly.

The meeting is scheduled for January 30 to 31, 2015 in Addis Ababa.

A statement from State House Press House office says the plane carrying President Mutharika will leave Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at 10 O’clock in the morning.

“During the summit His Excellency Prof. Mutharika will also meet leaders of different countries and organisations to update them on the disaster that has hit the nation as well as thank them for the assistance rendered to Malawi so far in response to the disaster” reads the statement by Press Officer, Chikondi Juma.
