It is difficut for a BBC journalist to be probe matters in detail when she would not have the depth of background about Malawi. There are so many issues that could have been raised; that concerning a land-grab, while serious for those involved, pales into insignificance compared to the actions of the Midnight Gang, the unsolved murders and dodgy election result. She would need to read Nyasa Times daily to have the facts!

The statesman is deeply irritated with the professionally sound Nyasatimes. I don’t see anything wrong with their publishing of that article. If all was based on the facts; which were the tangible sources of their article, therefore, the journalists were only exercising their information and democratic rights. More importantly, they were acting within their ethics i presume. I wonder if the truth is there to offend the upright man.

I would argue that Muthalika got off very easily with the interviewer. I was hoping she would ask him what happened to the findings of cash gate during his brother’s administration? Mr flip flopper has no clue nor an idea as to how he can get us out of this mess. He talks about funding ACB an organization that has been put in place to muzzle any attempts to investigate DPP involvement in cash gate. As long as ACB remains a political arm of DPP Malawians will never learn the truth about cash gate. Revolution is the only way out… Read more »
