Malawian President Peter Mutharika will on September 22 2014, make a presentation at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on the trade and investment opportunities that exist in Malawi for international investors, the President’s chief communication strategist, Bright Malopa has disclosed.
He said the Malawi leader will be participating in a number of engagements and hosting a number of meetings that seek to mobilize resources, opportunities and investment into the country.
Mutharika will make the presentation on the seventh floor of the NYSE—located at 11 Wall Street, Lower Manhattan in New York—during an African Heads of State and Government Investment Working Lunch.
The presentation will be made at the invitation of the NYSE and other players.
NYSE is the largest stock exchange in the world based on market capitalization, which is the total value of all the stocks on each exchange. The world’s second-largest exchange is the Nasdaq also based in New York.
The other two exchanges in the top five are the London Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Mutharika will also be hosted to a business lunch by the Corporate Council on Africa on September 26, 2014.
About 80 business captains will attend this event.
As the President will be busy, the First Lady Gertrude Hendrina Mutharika will also be in the mix of business.
She will on September 23 participate in the function of African First Ladies advocating health in the post 2015 era after the Millenium Development Goals period lapses.
She will also be among African First Ladies calling for Global Action on Women and Girls “Financial Health.
Her loaded programme also includes participating in an event that is aimed at empowering young people to make healthier choices.
Mutharika is in New York to participate in the General Debate of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. He will be addressing the United Nations General Assembly on September 25 at 5 pm Eastern Time (about 11pm Malawian Time).Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
