Mvula raps ‘inexperienced’ RVG: Malawi technical panel not fit for purpose

Soccer analyst and former Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Chairman Humphrey Mvula has openly declared that the newly appointed Malawi senior national team Belgian Coach Ronny Van Geneugden and his assistants Gerald Phiri and Deklerk Msakakuona are not fit to take charge of the Flames.

Mvula: Says Belgian coach on job training as head of Malawi  technical panel

Mvula made the remarks inside Ufulu FM’s ‘Thumba La Zigoli’ Sports Magazine Programme.

According to Mvula, the entire coaches are inexperienced and can only do better in coaching junior national side.

“Phiri and Msakakuona are inexperienced coaches and cannot manage the national team they can fit in developmental programs like coaching Under 17 or 20 as they were doing at the first place.

“As of the head coach you call RVG he also doesn’t have experience to coach national team, he can only talk football because he studies football and he has good credentials” said Mvula.

His comments comes as Malawians are still debating the future as well as what can be done to ensure that Flames perform well in the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying games commencing next month.

The Flames have lost two back to back competitive matches against Madagascar in Chan tournament and a single draw against Kenya since TVG took over the mangle. But soccer commentators have backed the Belgian tactician claiming he used players that were not of his choice that were assembled by his Assistants before he jet in the country.

Mvula insist RVG and his team are tactically poor as they failed to read the Madagascar home game after playing away in Antananarivo and come up with a working game plan.

We give time to all useless leaders, from APM to Walter Nyamilandu, no wonder both are leading dead pipo in this graveyard called Malawi. This RVG is getting a salary, he is not a charity coach, let him produce results.

RVG must pack up and go! We should not waste resources and take more embarrassments.

Mr Mvula is being emotional and is not honest, Malawians lets learn to understand issues rather than always being critical and attacking people for the sake of it. RVG the new National team Coach is new, he has not studied Malawi football, he does not know how our football is run, he individually has not studied the players individually, he simply found or was given a team to Coach, he is not a magician. He is a Prefessional who has a big work to do, so lets not disrupt him but support him, give him time to build a team… Read more »

Mvula too talkative and haste to talk before analysing issues properly. Why can’t we give the panel and coach enough time to do their job? Do you need the post? Did you expect them to do magic and win when other areas are not yet improved? Follow him; it is the same Mvula who said we don’t need Bingu National Stadium and proposed that money for that project go to FISD. Today people are marveled with the stadium and proudly hosting international games. I personally don’t like Mvula’s comments on national issues. He is too political and subjective on issues… Read more »
