Mwakhwawa, Ganiza shine in Afrox Ball Pool

Veteran lady golfer Lucy Ganiza  and lawyer  John Gift Mwakhwawa  on chilly Wednesday afternoon emerged winners of the Afrox Ball Pool at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).

Makhwawa was the overall winner 13-handicapped with a brilliant score of 21 points in men category.

He received  a gas cylinder, lamp and trophy from Afrox. His runner-up was John Kachilika who scored 19 points.

Ganiza, who played off 29 handicapp, registered 18 points counted in and got a trophy and gas cylinder.

She counted out 24-handicapped Teri Amaro, who finished second, while Stella Hara was third.

Ganiza said she was “overwhelmed “ with joy for winning after two years since she last won a tournament.

James Shonga came third on 18 points after counting out veteran Jimmy Nkwanda who was making a comeback after a lengthy break. Zachariah Hara finished fifth.

Afrox sales manager Jeremiah Phiri thanked golfers for braving the chilly conditions to participate in the tournament, saying his company is “proud” to be associated with  ball poll gold at BSC.

BSC golf captain Hudson Kantwanje thanked Afrox for remaining a loyal partner to BSC.
