A good gesture of kindness in these hard times. He could have made millions if he had sold the maize on the black market thriving across the border. The fact that he decided to donate to a worthwhile cause is worth emulating. Kalya akufye naloli.

Congratulations Mr. Mwambande. The Hospital appealed and you responded, that is very good. For those who don’t know this guy has been helping and I remember even before the last elections he built the Road that is just few kilometers from Karonga as we go to the boarder. This gentleman has the heart to help, may God bless you. Its very easy to talk nonsense when others have donated…

What a show! So many rich people donate to orphanages and hospitals in Malawi and i know one is my employer, Ketan Kotecha of Arkay Plastics who has done that many many times and not just with food but with non-perishable treasurable assets like furniture, blankets, and many other forms of hospital equipment. But you will never see such people invite the media for a “show-off ” political stunt like this guy above. This is pure PR and political posturing. God does not bless such actions because they have a political motive behind.

May be, as a general policy, govt shud adopt a one meal a day. And this meal shud be phala ku mmawa. Relatives and guardians of the sick must take greater responsibility than leaving everything in the hands of govt. The hospital can take care of referred patients and other vulnerables such as infants. Let hospitals concentrate on their core values and that is prescriptions, medicines, surgery, xray, etc. Apa boma laonesa kale kuti lalephera kudyesa odwala. Chasala nkukhazikisa new policy for way forward
