With Mzava’s current contract set to expire in June, Aces have taken the opportunity to pounce.

The 21-year-old left-back  has done well for Celtic since joining the club back in 2011, however dropped down the pecking order under Ernst Middendorp over the course of this season so far.

Mzava was linked with a number of South African clubs over the past two seasons, especially Mamelodi Sundowns, however a move failed to materialise and he remained in the Free State.

The defender has been instrumental  in the Malawi football team in the 2015 Africa Cup if Nations ualifiers, in which the Flames failed to qualify.

Do Malawian players have a say in deciding which club to sign for after being approached by their agents? looks like agents dictate choices of clubs for our players.I wonder why someone should leave Bloemfontein Celtic and join Mpumalanga black Aces,it’s like a step backwards.

Mzava should strive to polish up his skills and achieve his full potential by signing for a competitive club;He can become one of the best defenders in Africa.I wonder what happened to his European ambitions? This guy called Mokoena(first name forgotten) happens to be his agent and looked like he had ambitious plans for his client Mzava in the beginning by taking him to clubs like Hapoel Tel-Aviv and AS Monaco, but all this has faded out now.

When you look at Africa cup 2015,it is clearly noticeable that Southern African teams struggled because they don’t have as many players playing in Europe as the West Africans have hence their elimination. This idea of flooding Malawian players in the South African and Mozambiquan leagues will always betray Malawi’s progress in football.Lately, some top local layers have been lured to play in Mozambique, this doesn’t sound good in the sense that these players won’t achieve any quality and technical skills.

Mzava,Lanjesi,Kaonga,Gabadhino,N’gambi, and Miracle Gabeya are some of the few quality players who deserve to play in Europe and can make it in less competitive leagues there.Striving to send many players to Europe will help make Malawi produce a stronger team than at the moment.
