Mzima Shines in TNM Business Services Golf tournament

Mzuzu based golfer Henry Mzima had every reason to walk tall along the cane fields in Dwangwa, having emerged champion during the TNM Business Services Golf Tournament held at the spacious Kasasa Golf Course in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota.

Mzima, playing off handicap 15 finished top in the main category- the men’s section after getting 39 stable ford points.

“I am very excited to win this tournament. It was windy especially during the morning hours but I just focused on my game. Many thanks to TNM for the sponsorship- We had a lot of fun on the golf course and I really enjoyed it,” said Mzima after getting his prizes from TNM’s Chief Commercial Officer Dan Makata.

Trailing the champion was Hassan Fazili, who was counted in following a tie with Kondwani Mphulla on 39 points. Mphulla was counted out to third.

Frank Jomo claimed the Nearest-the-Pin prize for men with Jan Bester emerging the longest driver in the same section.

The ladies’ section was won by Audla Bester, who had 32 points. Her runner-up was Cathy McComb whereas Hariet Mariani from TNM and Lusubilo Chakaniza from the host club shared the ladies’ Longest Drive and Nearest-the-Pin awards.

All the winners got assorted prizes from TNM ranging from split units to latest mobile phones. Apart from spoiling the winners, TNM also presented power banks and branded pens to each of the participating golfers.

Makata, speaking during the prize presentation ceremony hailed the participating golfers for gracing the day-long event.

“We are very pleased with the turn up. The participation of 70 golfers from Dwangwa and other golf clubs across Malawi shows you have welcomed us back in Dwangwa. We were equally not happy that we did not come here last year but be rest assured we are coming back next year,” said Makata.

Turning to business, the TNM Chief Commercial Officer urged the golfers and the rest of TNM customers to patronise the latest services and new innovations from the company.

“Yesterday (Friday, June 25) we were in Lilongwe launching some new products and opening a VIP Shop at Bingu International Conference Centre, where you can come and experience VIP services. As a mobile service provider that is always ahead of competition, we have also launched a 4G internet service that will enable you access high speed internet.

“Those that have tried it have told us that they have only experienced such a service in Europe and we are only the 16thcountry in the world to have such a service,” said Makata.

Kasasa Golf Club captain Robert Ngala hailed TNM for coming back to Dwangwa and committing itself to stage another tournament next year.
