Mzuni beat Karonga United to go 3rd as Max Bullets drops six points: Malawi TNM Super League

Ambitious Northern Region side Mzuni F.C have moved to third position of the TNM Super League following a 1-0 victory over struggling and bottom placed Karonga United in a match played at the Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday.

The Mzuzu University students scored the loan goal through their striker Lughindiko Mushani 80th minutes into the second half.

They now have accumulated 16 points three behind leaders Silver Strikers who have 19 points in their bag and two behind second placed Blue Eagles.

Dwangwa United completed their Southern Region tour on a bad note after going down 1-0 to Wizards FC just 24 hours after beating Azam Tigers 2-1 on Saturday.

At the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, Civo beat visiting MTV Max Bullets 1-0 thanks for a goal from Raphael Phiri.

This means Bullets are returning to their base empty handed having again lost 2-0 to soldiers Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday..

Coach for Max Bullets Trevor Kajawa admitted his side is finding it hard to score goals hence the need to sharpen the striking force.

In other games played on Saturday, Silver Strikers beat Epac FC 2-1 to dislodge Blue Eagles from the top spot.

Moyale Barracks thrushed Karonga United 4-0 at the Mzuzu Stadium while Azam Tigers went sown 1-2 to Dwangwa United.
