Mzuni FC parade streets over Malawi Super League promotion

Mzuzu University Football Club (Mzuni FC) who have won themselves a place in the 2015/2016 TNM Super League after emerging victors in the Simama Northern Region Football Association League (NRFL), Monday paraded the streets of Mzuzu City celebrating their realized dream.

Mzuni FC captain Samir Simkonda told Nyasa Times that the celebration was worth it.

“We’ve waited for so long to get back into the country’s topflight football league,” said Simkonda. “Over ten years is a long time.”

The side were promoted after Kaporo United failed to turn up for a replay match, thereby making them the first with 100 points.

While Chilumba Barracks FC have expressed their discontentment over Mzuni’s victory, citing favouritism grounds, both NRFL and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) have gone ahead to crown Mzuni FC as champions.

Gone are the days when the world used such manually written placards. Malawi is behind in everything, do people watch international tv to learn from countries above us how such things are organised
