Mzuzu heartless burglar jailed 7 years

The Mzuzu High Court has sentenced Moses Ngwira, 24, to seven years imprisonment with hard labour for burglary and theft.

The court heard that during the night of 21-22 April this year the convict broke into the house of Chimwemwe Nangubo of Luwinga and got away with an LG Plasma screen valued at K250 000.

Assistant Superintendent Austin Msowoya told the court that after police launched investigations they have managed to recover different goods worth K10 million from him.

Ngwira pleaded guilty to both charges, and Principal Resident Magistrate Gladys Gondwe sentenced him to seven years and two years for burglary and theft which will run concurrently.

He hails from Chilira Village, Traditional Authority Mthwalo in Mzimba district.
