NAM fails to pay K40,000 to enable Malawi Queens coach attend training

Comedian Netball Association of Malawi ( NAM) will never seize to amaze Malawians following news that the association failed to pay K40,000 to enable its coaches Peace Kaluwa and Mary Waya to attend a High Perfomance Coaches Workshop in Australia where they just returned from the World Cup Tournament.

Malawi Queens coach Peace Kaluwa was quoted on Zodiak Radio that it was a lost opportunity for their failure to attend the workshop because it involved highly respected coaches from Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica where they would have learn from greats of the game on the backdrop of the sport.

“I was also surprised that all our friends attended the workshop expect us. We lost an opportunity to learn more from people who are well conversant with the game,” said Kaluwa.

NAM general secretary Carol Bapu told the radio that they were not aware that they will be that kind of a workshop hence they did not pay the fee for the coaches.

All the coaches, whose teams took part in the just ended Netball World Cup attended ,a High Performance Coaches Workshop which showcased the ‘cream of the crop’ in netball royalty with former international coaches sharing their secret in tactics, skills and drills to an audience of current and aspiring coaches.

The main focus of the workshop was also to encourage players to think outside the box, introduce them to new drills and game plans, broaden their understanding of the game and drop old habits in order to get the most out of their players.

Carol Bapu, Carol Bapu, CarolBapu? How many times have I called you Bapu? What type of lazy bones are? Mlomwe, Mchewa or Mtumbuka? What type of secretary are you? Whe whe whe whe I dint know while you are smiling as if it is something good. How would you know? A fool like you. There are few lazy women of your caliber including Priscilla Mateyu from BWB. She never tells the truth. In January she tells you that her board is not supplying water because of heavy water rains. Then Wait until September she turns out and ,say oh no we are failing to supply potable water because of low water. This year even ESCOM has joined the wagon of failing to supply their product because of low water level. Of course ESCOM is not sure on this one. The cook for lies at escom is not as good as Carol Bapu for NAM and Priscilla Mateyu BWB.

  12. What is the budget for NAM? I know that there is too much professional jealousy. By the way what is 40,000.00 Malawi Kwacha. Please you idiot sports administrators, ngati musakufuna mungosiya muzikapanga uhure. This is very stupid. Ndinu amene mumalowetsa chitukuko pansi

  13. Zondiwe says:

Please sack the NAM team. There have been numerous complaints but they all land on deaf ears.
Replace Chinunda, Bapu, etc. They are arrogant ladies and are not interested in Netball development in the country. They are always acting and behaving like politicians. Are they not the ones who said that they could do without Mwabi Kumwenda? They castigated her left and right, and are really not helping to build morale in the team.
Whoever appointed these ladies, please relieve them of their positions and appoint other capable people. Only then will real change come. The current leadership does not see the need for training. They are not capable of moving with the times.

  20. peter muthanyula says:

If it was critically important, she could have paid for herself. After all the course was for her benefit. People die, and they die with all the skills… it would be a waste of NAM money in that case

M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT CAROL BAPU AND ROSE CHINUNDA (looking at their names) ARE NOT MALAWIANS, SEEMS THERE’S A MOZAMBICAN AND ZIMBABWEAN COLLUDING TO DESTROY MALAWI. IT’S TOO MUCH LEAVE THE STAGE NOW!!! 40 GRAND ($70) REALLY??? AM SURE EVEN THE COACHES WOULD’VE ACCEPTED TO BE LOANED OR ADVANCED THIS AMOUNT AGAINST THEIR PAY IF THESE TWO ‘FOREIGHNERS’ DIDN’T WANT NAM TO SHOULDER THIS, THEY DON’T WISH US WELL.

  24. Tsoka Chawinga says:

“When top positions are held by 6″ and 12” inches type, umangoziwiratu!! Its the very same ignorant idiots and assholes that wanted to block our international rising star Mwayi Kumwenda from participating in this years World Netball cup later own,to be humbled and humiliated upon the Minister of Sports intervention.Mwayi ended up being the Player of the tournament.Kalosi Bappu??????????? 27. The real ujeni says:

Yet a number of NAM officials went along as tourists, the money spent on these officials should have gone for the payment. In a typical Malawian style all the other nations participating knew about the course and attended, poorest country officials were clueless.
