Bingu tells off Livingstonia Synod
Malawi President Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika disappointed the delegation of Livingstonia Synod which called on him at Mzuzu State House when he could not stomach their advice.
State House source said Livingstonia Synod which met Mutharika included Rev Mezuwa Banda, Rev Nyondo, Rev Maurice Munthali and Rev Baloyi.
According to the source, the church clergy were reminding the Head of State that “there is no development in the north” .
They told the President that all development being touted for the northern region was “political rhetoric”.
The clergy also bluntly told Mutharika that there were few northern region people in key positions unlike the Lomwes who are dominating the government machinery.
Livingstonia Synod group warned Mutharika against the use of the quota system, for admission of new entrants to the university of Malawi.
The clergy expressed fear that the quota system which was first introduced by the former regime of dictator late Ngwazi Kamuzu Banda in 1988 will discriminate against people from the north.
But Mutharika angrily said as minister of education he had already explained that he was misunderstood on the use of the controversial system which was stopped by court rafter students’ dragged government to court.
“I don’t buy off support, I am not Bakili Muluzi type,” anger filled Mutharika is quoted to have told the clergy.
Mutharika pointed out to Livingstonia Synod that he was looking at equitable selection of students to institutions of higher learning that include all constituent colleges of the University of Malawi, Mzuzu University and other public colleges.
High Court recently granted an injunction and stay order to Winfred Mkochi, Head of African Languages and Linguistics Department at Chancellor College in Zomba, who filed for judicial review of the government’s directive.
Mkochi, who is also president of the Chancellor College Academic Staff Union (CCASU), asked the court to quash the decision by government of Ngwazi Mutharika and the University of Malawi Council arguing that the introduction of the new system when other students were already selected was "unreasonable and infringes on the rights of students who were legitimately expected to be admitted on the basis of merit only."

1-Simuyamika. Uyu Bingu Bakili put him in power and now anamuikira. Kamuzu and Tembo northerners (Orton Chirwa) formed MCP for them and when they rose in power anawaukira anthu akumpoto and killed many of them.
2-Both tribes have dictaterial tendances ,,, kanani. Kamuzu, JZU , Bingu all dictators and you don'* want to be advised otherwise.
3-Both tribes dont want to take advice. Bingu amamva za munthu? Nanga Kamuzu and JZU? Clergy mediated za parlianment anamva Bingu? Pasdtoral leeter italembedwa anamva a JZU ndi Kamuzu? Instead they opted to assacinate Bishops and that was their down fall.
4-Kusaphunzira ndiye if anyone educated advises you all you think is akufuna kundilanda udindo and thats why northerners suffered at the ahnds of chewas and Lomwes. Bingu is a bruit and the economics he is boasting about is from a northerner by the name of Godall kANANI A LOmwe? Bingu was at Commecer what did he change anything apart from Kusolola?
5- Kusafuna kuchoka pa udindo/Wamuyaya syndrome. Bingu will do everything possible like JZU and Kamuzu did not to be removed from power. Wina mchewa si uyu anachita kufera pa udindo osaziwa kuti wakalamaba? Wina siuyu from 1958 mpaka pano doesnt want to leave stage and mark my word he will die ali pampando and if anyone wants to takeover mcp he uncermoniously kills them physically or politically. Muzapanga izi mpaka liti? Kuli Mulungu kunja kuno.
-Support Bingu now and just wait if he will win elections come 2009 NEVER Bingu is FINISHED and now he knows and inu a tinkenawo A lomwe ngati Tissy mwauponda. Look at zipwirikiti za ma primaries a DPP,, Does that tell you Bingu will win?

We were ruled by a Yao by the name of Bakili Muluzi he NEVER put anyone in jail without kuzengedwa mulandu, or killed anyone who opposed him as achewanu!!!

Koma agogo'wa apita basi.
* pray Bakili will come back other than killers again to be in power after 31 years!!! * fear for my country
To begin with, look at Mzuzu. Is that something worthy a city status while we have Blantyre and Lilongwe. Look at the road network in the north. There are only two roads, the whole region M1 and M5 both meeting at Mzuzu then proceed as one road to Karonga. How many roads do we have in south and centre?
On the issue of being talkative or being influential. * hope for those who have studied Malawian history will agree with me that in Malawi the first people to receive sound education were the northerners. That is why they were able to comprehend issues better than our ancestors down here. It is a fact that even the freedom we are enjoying today, the people who fought for it are northerners. Even MCP itself that is monopolised by the Chewas today was formed by northerners, Orton Chirwa and Aleke Banda after the likes of Levi Mumba had laid foundations. Kamuzu and his team joined later when everything was already set.
If it were that northerners were power hungry, Kamuzu wouldn'* have been the first president. Orton Chirwa gave him the power while he himself was already ruling.
My colleagues, think twice when you want to say something against northerners.
North sympathizer
palibe Mchewa or Yao or Tumbuka. Ngati Atumbuka ankakuposani nzeru ku college zisatikhuze tonsefe. Enanu ma baby Achitumbuka anakukanani ndiye ikhale nkhani pa Nyasatimes kuti Atumbuka onse ndionyada? Kuli ma baby a Bo ku Mpoto nanji ku Karonga oooooh!!!! Sindinaone Malawi yenseyu.

Inunso atumbuka mukuziti ophunziranu, bwanji osayamba kumanga nyumba kwanu koma kukamira ku BT? And you know how naive some of the educated guys from the north are. First start to pump sense in them, whether one is a lawyer or not. Pali zina zosafunika kudziwa kuwerenga mabuku.
It is sacrilegeous to tell anthu a mulungu to shut up! Mwina nchifukwa chache nkhope yaoyo yayamba kusintha moteromo: malodza owapempha.
Bingu will see how poweful these men of God are. Don'* be cheated with your DPP governors.
Charu nimazgola, chikazgola Gamphani pa Nkhamanga, leave those lomwes they will see how the world can turn around.
Its shameful for our leaders to call Bingu Ngwazi, and the north as the home for DPP. U Mzuni what has Bingu achieved for the north?
