Senior ministers feast on Gondwe

image Gondwe: No dark spots

Here we go again, this time it is about some senior cabinet ministers who have embarked on a crusade to harm the reputation of award winning Finance minister Goodall Gondwe.

Politics in Malawi will always wear the word ‘dirty’ if what these botched cabinet ministers are contemplating is endorsed by President Bingu wa Mutharika.

The idea behind the ‘dirty politics’ is to convince the head of state by extension the people of Malawi that the Finance minister who is tipped to be vice president nominee should be dropped.

Gondwe is much more experienced and morally excellent than all of these unproductive ministers combined.

Stories are being cooked up by these tribalism infected ministers to stop Goodall Gondwe from being picked for the hot seat simply because he is a northerner-what nonsense!!

Probably, our cabinet ministers need a human resource specialist to tell them that reward goes with performance.

The question on people’s lips is: in which generation of politics are these failed senior cabinet ministers?  Has the Obama syndrome not reached these yanks yet?

They all have twisted political CVs for they went into cabinet via back door. Had Bingu gone into government the normal way, we could not even have known their names at cabinet level.

Tell us who the nation should reward if performance has been locked in drawers by these ministers.

Goodall Gondwe has an impressive background both in academia and work with various agencies.

Everybody including Bester Majoni, Malawi Congress Party shareholder can perceive what Gondwe has done to Malawi’s economy.

Gondwe has brought about economic stability never experienced in Malawi for years.

Malawi is today a star performer because of this man. (Gondwe)  Late Kamuzu Banda, former President of Malawi could have envied this achievement.

So what? Should we promote Chimunthu Banda just because he is from the central region?  What is his background if we may ask?

Worse still, what has he achieved as a cabinet minister apart from gaining weight. Not that the Timau Crew hates the man but what has he got to offer the nation?

Tell us which other DPP guru is capable than Gondwe?  Should we applaud someone because she can make noise? Must we side with a minister who goes out with girls using our money? (Tax payers’ money)  Are we going to approve of someone just because they have got good vocabulary with which to castigate Bakili Muluzi?

Some of these senior cabinet ministers should thank God that they are there. If Bingu wins with majority in 2009, they will pack up their bags for the President will not appease people just to make up numbers in Parliament.

To make matters shoddier for them, if one of the opposition parties comes in power that will be the end of their political careers. We will erase them from our political books.

Amangwetu, times have changed, we are all Malawians, and anyone from anywhere can rule Malawi provided they have got what it takes to be there.  Muyaluka!!Cabinet ministers, what Cabinet ministers?

The so called "Senior Ministers" of Malawi, most of them are not educated as Goodwell Gondwe, and they have done nothing to malawi as a nation apart from steal money from the government.

Some of these Ministers are busy going out with young girls, lets hope they are free fron HIV/Aids.

Some senior ministers have gain too much weight while poor Malawians are going to bed without food. You so called Senior Ministers, try to think positive and develop Malawi, and leave Goodwell Gondwe a lone.

Sembe Gondwe, * have no doubt you are related to Goodall. The way you have written your article to me sounds like a comment from one of the readers. Mwalemba ngati mmene angalembere Ritta, Kambenje, Hands Kawoko and others. And you expect readers to comment positively on this article. What was the whole point in writing this? Today you have appeared more tribalistic to me than ever. You are now attacking Chimunthu Banda because he has turned out to be a threat to Goodall'* and northerner'* ambitions. Dont take Goodall as a saint. He has performed as a minister, but he is not the only one in cabinet. There are several ministers who have done pretty well wherever they have gone and Chimunthu Banda is one of them. Do you know why Goodall has never been moved from Finance since Bingu took power? Akumuthandiza kuba ndalama Bingu ku Financeko. Bingu akudziwa kuti munthu amene angabe naye ndalama ndi Goodall basi.
You guys have now started campaigning for Goodall to be the running mate. Believe me, Bingu cannot chose Goodall to be his running mate. Mukukhala ngati ndale za pa Malawi simukuzidziwa bwanji. We go for numbers.

* wonder if this is a report or an opinion. Tell us which Ministers are involved and what is the nature of their conspiracy. That is not clear in this article. You have dwelt too much on your own sentiments rather than giving us facts so we can pass judgement for ourselves. Of course everybody knows the Gudo is way above the rest and they labour in vain those who are against him. Njala, nthenda, nsanje pa Nyasaland maningi. Kodi wasiya kulemba zampira mkulu?

PP; PERFOMANCE = PROMOTION thats the "equilibrium", rather "equation" in simple terms. These so called senior ministers must go back to school to learn this adage, if at all they will not collapse under the heavy load of calculus.

* hope this time around Malawians will wake up and say no to petty politics of Regionalism.Americans have paved the way to show the whole world that in this day and age,we need to vote competent people into office and not based on petty criteria like race, tribe or party.Gondwe is a proven leader who if given a chance has a lot more to offer to the people of Malawi. Not this time, enough is enough please Malawians vote on merit.

* think Timau crew is also a bunch of confusionists. The trick here is to promote the same Gondwe they attacked against Chimunthu Banda so that the Central region is weakened. They know that Goodal does not speak Chichewa and he also struggles with Chitumbuka. All he knows well is English owing to his long stay outside the country. Bingu himself struggles with Chichewa, and so this combination will find it difficult to campaign. Chimunthu banda is somehow clean, mature, and composed. He has no enemies in the opposition and in government alike. People can easily sympathise with him and he is a good orator. Timau crew knows that these characteristics will make for the seemingly oratory shortfalls in Bingu and Gondwe. That'* why they have embarked on a different campaign. Why dont you just write about a Chair so that you can convince more people to vote for him, if the courts clear him?

* could be wrong, but * think * am right.

This is is indeed bad for the country, getting people by regionalism.

One fact though which is in Malawi...Northerners are regionalistic , tribalistic. How ....akakhala bwana pa kampanipo ndi wakwithu, mudzingoona 75% ya ena obwera ndi wakwithu okhaokha. You want examples of places where this is practised in Malawi? Well, tisachititse makampani kapena ma Govt depts manyazi.

* think these Ministers are protecting the country from that disease as well. Inu Atumbuka mwina simumadziwa , mukamatisankha muja kuntchito chifukwa si ife wakwithu zimatiwawatu!!!!

However, * agree with Timau...this needed an end. Probably Timau need to expose these type of Northerners first , launch a campaign to sensitize Northerners that khalidwe limene lija, is inhuman because we all have eyes !!!!

Northerners woyee!!! Centralners woyee!!! Southerners woyee!!!

Three quarter of Bingu wa Muntharikas cabinet ministers have proved to us that they are incompetent, jealousy, greedy, pompous, valueless, and lacks proper education and experience which could have helped to boost the political, economical and social part of our country. Goodall Gondwe is one of the few God-gifted people in Malawi who doesnt consider of which region or tribe he belongs to. It could have been very easy for him to bring down Bingus government ecomically but he has managed to serve Malawians without thinking of where he comes from when we come to think of how vocal and irritating our learned brothers and sisters of the Northern region have portrayed. Some of these cabinet ministers from the Southern region are busy kusamba mankhwala adzitsamba ndikumangilira dzithumwa mchiuno mwao ncholinga choteteza mpando komanso udindo wao instead of coming up with new ideas which could help Bingus government. Though we dont know much about Goodall Gondwe, he has delineated himself as the true son of Malawi who doesnt think of his region or tribe but is there to stretch his muscles in order to help innocent souls which are crying for help in the remote areas of Engongolweni in Mzimba, Mphepozinai in Ntchewu and Nthadana or Mitabali in Thyolo. Message to Bingus half baked and violent cabinet ministers: refrain from gossiping, corruption, womanising and backbiting amongst yourselves. Give the necessary support to Goodall Gondwe who is willing to improve the economical condition of our beloved Warm Heart of Africa.

The author of this article has presented a very fake work based on hallucinations and paranoia. He/she is out to campaign for Gondwe at the expence of the other so called cabinet ministers. Though he wants us to believe that he thinks President-elect Obama'* message of Changeshould guide our politics, wich * agree, his psting falls short of that resolve as it tries to tear down personalities of Chimunthu, Kaliati and Ntaba. This is contrary to the theme of Obama'* Philosopy. * am also not sure whether Obama could be an alogue of Gondwe given that Obama comes from a destitute minority in USA, obama was a poor fellow, obama is young, obama is less experienced relative to others but has much judgement, Obama comes from a minority that does not have educational or economic previleges etc. Gondwe has a Bsc degree only, has decades of experiience in Bakili Muluzi'* government, Bingus, WB etc, Gondwe comes from a wealthy , successfull, educated, repressive, belligerent and less humble minority in malawi. Gondwe can serve the nation well as a minister of finance, otherwise, as VP, Gondwe will be a waste of time. This is not to say that no one from where Gondwe comes from is qualified, . We can have the bootlicker Khumbo Kachali for example.
So next time do a good job you reporter. you have some good sentence construction skills, don'* abuse them.

My Dear Sembe,

* would like to join you in condemning some senior ministers who would want to chop the head of the Finance Minister. * know how passionate is Sembe gondwe towards Goodall Gondwe.

A human being is a human being. He/she should only be confemned when in wrong not because of achievements.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT 99.999999% of the so called corruption cases now in courts were promoted by us the Gondwes, Mbales, munthalis of this world against our brothers and sisters from mostly the Southern region for the imagined crimes created on this forum. Why? To take over their legitimate political places. Most of these guys are more professionally qualified but their names have been tarnished for the mere fact that they belonged to a party of the most hated person amongst us. Even goats, dogs from our area know that we hate Bakili. Yet to day we are proud that Mzuzu University brought by Bakili has offered Degrees to the President and this finance minister. How nice!

So Sembe do not cry. These evils are coming back to us. LET US PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS. THOSE INNOCENT PEOPLE WHOM WE HAVE CONDEMNED THROUGH THE POWER OF OUR PENS, ARE RELEASED. THEIR FAMILIES ARE IN TROUBLE BECAUSE OF US.

DO NOT CRY

ENJOY THE REST OF THIS BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY.

This story contains absolutely nothing in regards to the title. No substance on what the said senior ministers are actually doing to discredit Gondwe. Sounds very much like "kinder garten" journalism.

If Timau loves Malawi, * dont think you can recomend tha Goodle be the V.P Nominee. How can the VP fail to speek the national longuage of his counthry? You remember when Goodal was given the chance to speak at Masintha ground in 2007, he failed to speak Chichewa and he spoke Chitumbuka. Do you think this can bring diginity to our country? A VP from the country failing to speak the national language for his country? * thanked Ngwazi for not giving him a chance to speak again after observing the weakness. Dear all, a VP is a political position, the VP Nominee *ìshould be able to sell hiself al over the country, from Karonga to Chitipa. So do you think Goodal can be able to sell himself to people in Nsanje, Mulanje, Machinga, just to say in the southern region and centro region? What language will he be able to be communication to these regions. Even in north, what percentage of the minority northerners will be able to get his Chitumbuka? Very few. But for your own information, even people from the north are able to hear and understand Chichewa the challenge is that most of them are not able to speak Chichewa. So anyone from the south and Centro region will be able to sell his ideas to the northerners.

As a reasult, VP being a political position, it is good and proper for the political party to appoint someone who will be able to sell his political ideas to the majority of the Nation, to which Goodal is totally disqualified for that. Let Ngwazi apoint someone who will add a vote to him. pointing Goodal will suicidal as Palin was to MacCain. Instead of campaining, Ngwazi will be spending a lot of his campaign time defending gìhis choice of Goodal. It will be difficult to sell Goodal. * dont kow the marketing term that can be used to describe a difficult commomìdity to sell which will exactly be like Goodal if being a VP Nominee. The other issue is selfishness for him and the rest of the northerners. If we chose a vp from the norther, sizingayende, anyamatawa kudzikonda kwambiri. For Goodal being from this serfish group, he is emediately eliminated from the second top post of our land. First these northerners should change their unbecoming behavior before being considered for the VP position. As of now, the Ministerial positions are the best positions for the northerners, they are not worthy anything better that that.

One can only be afraid that Timau Crew and others have or are trying to build walls against Goodall Gondwe. Goodall Gondwe is not different from other politicians. But it appears Nyasatimes, perhaps populated with Northerners, is trying to distinguish Gondwe from all other politicians as if he does not participate in the political spoils of the nation. We can agree that Goodall is a capable finance minister. We can agree he has the interest of the people at heart demonstrated in his abilities to underplay the effects of politics in his official duty. However, politicians have a tendency to feed on each other for them to be where they want to be. The Obama syndrome mentioned in this article has used the same one; playing by the tricks. Gondwe has done the same way and his fellow ministers are aware of it. Now, to try to give him an upper hand by suggesting that he is so special is to disguise us of the true feelings within Northern writers on this site. My surprise began with an earlier article which suggested without any reliance on facts that Gondwe did not participate in a corrupt deal when trying to sell Air Malawi. Today, you bring in this kind of feeling fed article protecting Gondwe. Who do you want to ****? Are you not trying to create and protect an impeccable image of Gondwe just by trying to refute any allegation of corruption on his behalf merely because Northern-based Nyasatimes Writers have bought to the idea of making Goodall Gondwe the VP. How on earth would this writer even go on to minimize the achievements of Chimunthu Banda? It is practically impossible for Gondwe to achieve any meaningful goals without the likes of Chimunthu and other ministers. Please spare readers of Nyasatimes such kinds on northern-based feelings because we are basically Malawians and do not feed to such regionalistic politics. What if Central and Southern Region use such kind of attitude to promote people from their own regions? The situation will be very bad for the nation. Please stop this Timau Flavored nonsense.

You can tell the writer of this article is a champion of regionalistic politics, the very politics he seem to attack. This is sad Nyasa. This is an insult to all capable people from the other two regions. The writer tries to show Gondwe'* brilliance as a person from the north in the light of the incompetence of people from the other two regions. This is a gross interpretation of Obama politics. * would urge the writer to listen to Obama'* 'Towards a Perfect Union Speech' and see the wisdom he employed to tackle divisive issues like race, religion, gender and the like.....Again Nyasa this is sad.

Can you please tell us what the senior cabinet ministers are saying which you have said were castigations on Gondwe? You have mentioned that other seniro cabinet ministers are decampaigning Gondwe on presidential runningmate, but you ahve not stated the names of ministers. Do not be jealousy of Chimunthu Banda, he has also done great to Malawi nation, being a teacher at a secondary school, he has contributed to manpower in the country. He also headed a secondary school, where he administered, and had other policies implemented by him. So if you ask what Chimunthu Banda has done for Malawi, that is that. As someone has mentioned, it might be that Gondwe is being kept at Finance to do some work for Bingu, so what have you. Leave Chimunthu alone, though M'chewa, but is very potential hence Bingu loves him, and that other cabinet ministers also praise his good work.

None of us can run away from the fact that Goodal is a performer. Goodal is good but * feel he is overpraised and that is likely to overshadow some 'wrongs' in him. It is my understanding that the VP shall be appointed on merit regardless of whether one is from a monority group or not.It is also bad to discret the achievements of others for the sake of elavating our own. * believe we ought to be reminded that a cabinet is a team and that no captain can move a ship without his crew. In a nutshell, the cabinet is responsible for the successes of Malawi. And bingu, as intelligent and wise as we say he is, should have no trouble in chosing a running mate. .
