Dr Mbilizi quits DPP named VP for MPP

Ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has lost membership of one of its founding members Dr Margret Asalele Mbilizi who was named vice president of Maravi People’s Party (MPP).

Addressing a news conference at Cresta Hotel in the capital, Lilongwe, MPP president Uladi Mussa said the appointment of Dr Mbilizi underscores their pursuit to have women in influential positions.

However, Mussa former agriculture minister in President Bingu wa Mutharika administration ruled out Mbilizi being her running mate in the general elections due next year.

He said MPP which is in alliance with United Democratic Front (UDF) was backing the presidential candidature of former president Dr Bakili Muluzi.

“We have endorsed to support Muluzi’s candidacy,” said Mussa, member of parliament for Salima central.

“Muluzi is a winning ticket,” he declared.

Dr Mbilizi who was once head of Bakili Muluzi for Social and Economic Transformation also confirmed her “support for Muluzi candidacy”.

The party which announced its executive committee included Dyson Gonthi formerly of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) with publicity task.

Was she a member of the NGC? Give us more insight about her position in DPP. As far as my memory serves me, Mbilizi has always been associated with Muluzi. What does she stand for? Politicians who jump from one party to another do not have the interests of Malawians at heart? They are simply 'oppotunists'. Seriously do you expect MPP to have an infuence on the Malawian voters? This is a big joke. Remember even Mussa was UDF, goes to DPP back to alliance with Muluzi, masanje chani?

Dr Mbilizi, yes enough is enough bye, bye DPP. You are not the only one, some will follow you, let us wait and see.

Some DPP Ministers are having secret meetings at night, they are planning to join the opposition party before may 19th elections.

Ngwazi Dr Bingu is in a blanket, he does not know anything, even his intelligence, now it is when they will open there eyes, after reading this. Dr Bingu, munthu ndi ovuta.

Sorry for Ngwazi, after may next year, he will be alone, even Mayi Kaliati will run away from him. But the opposition, once you win in may, do not allow this woman so called Kaliati.

Who is Mbilizi Magret Dr? She has never been popular in Malawi political circles and we are hearing for the first time that she was in DPP and a founding member for that matter. Was she a secret political player or a two faced personality with one leg in yellow and another in blue. If she has indeed become Uladi'* VP, uku ndiye kutha ma plan. If anything just go back to the university and teach. If UNMA does not want you, well we have a number of private ones now. MPP is a short lived party whose laedership is myopic and * guess Mbilizi has also become myopic politically. A Gonthi. Dygo Cultural Troupe Mwamusiila ndani?

How many dostors do we have in DPP who are not holding any positions? Just imagine moving from DPP going to MPP? Atcheya ananena kale kuti anthu ena mumawaona ngati ophunzira koma ali osaganiza. Did * hear any name of Mbilizi in DPP top ranks? * doubt if she was one of the influential people. This is the same as announcing of defetors who have nothing to do with the party they defect from. But, * thank Uladi for appointing a lady as party vice president. This was also done with Brown who even had a lady as his runningmate during the 2004 elections. If leaders have women in such positions, it shows that they are matured politicians who do not undermine women. Bravo Uladi, bravo MPP. Sorry that you have made an alliance with a losing presidential candidate who will not contest in 2009, for obvious reasons. Still, * wish MPP the best of its luck.

Frank Phiri, your Ngwazi will not block nyasatimes. There are so many ways to un block if blocked, ask me or others, will tell you nyasatimes.
